Mr. Obama Makes Proclamation!

 Barack Obama
Proclamation 8387 -
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month, 2009 June 1, 2009

"Forty years ago, patrons and supporters of the Stonewall Inn in New York City resisted police harassment that had become all too common for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. Out of this resistance, the LGBT rights movement in America was born. During LGBT Pride Month, we commemorate the events of June 1969 and commit to achieving equal justice under law for LGBT Americans.

LGBT Americans have made, and continue to make, great and lasting contributions that continue to strengthen the fabric of American society. There are many well-respected LGBT leaders in both the arts and business communities, and in all industries. LGBT Americans also mobilized the Nation to respond to the domestic HIV/AIDS epidemic and have played a vital role in broadening this country's response to the global HIV pandemic."

To read the rest of this proclamation you can go to the White House web site.

Basically, Mr. Obama has endorsed violence as a means to an end. The Stonewall Riots, as they have come to be known, was a time where the patrons of the Stonewall Inn responded to police by throwing bricks and bottles at them. Later they attempted to murder 12 police by barricading them in a building and tried to set it on fire.

According to Mr. Obama’s reasoning, based on this proclamation, the killer of Tiller should be lauded as a hero, for he too acted in frustration toward an individual who was responsible for the murders of over 60,000 babies.

In either case, I do not endorse the violent actions that came out of these circumstances. My point is that many are being led by their “rule of emotions” rather than the “Rule of Law.” It is also important to remember that just because something is declared “legal” does not make it “Lawful.”

The psalmist David declared in Psalm 119:16:
“I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.” And in verse 105:
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.”
Sad to say that as far as this nation is concerned, that light has been extinguished and the path darkened and we’ve lost our way!

It is important to understand that many of our nations laws originally had their foundation based on God’s Word. The principles by which juris prudence was originally conceived have their roots in the Word of God! (Exodus 18:13-27) Not to mention the fact that our form of government has, at its core, the basis that it will only work when adhered to by a moral people!

Listen to the words of George Washington in his Inaugural address in 1789:
“No people can be bound to acknowledge and adore the Invisible Hand which conducts the affairs of men, more than the people of the United States. Every step by which they have advanced to the character of an independent nation seems to have been by some token of Providential agency.”

And the words of John Adams:
“Our Constitution was made for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Now, I think these men knew well what they were talking about with regards to the continuance of this great nation as a Republic and both were ardent readers of the Word of God.

Adams is also quoted as saying,
“Democracy… while it lasts, is more bloody than either (referring to aristocracy or monarchy). Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts and murders itself. There is never a democracy that didn’t commit suicide.”

This is where we find our nation today. Committing national suicide under the banner of democracy, to the exclusions of the Word of God!

Through the years apathy has crept in among God’s people and our foundations, the principles upon which we were formed, are constantly being bombarded and find themselves under attack with little or no resistance!

Even the average Christian touts that we are a democracy not understanding the difference between a democracy and a Republic! And as one of the results we have a supreme court nominee who believes, and I quote, “Court of appeals is where policy is made. And I know, and I know, this is on tape and I should never say that because” (here comes the two step) “because we don’t make the law, I know. Ok, I know. I’m not promoting it and I’m not advocating it. I’m, you know. Ok, having said that, the court of appeals is where, before the supreme court makes its final decision, the law is percolating, its interpretation, its application.”

Hey, it’s time to stop the percolating. The Law is getting burned and tasting pretty bad!
We must understand what she is saying. In essence, she’s saying that the law is open to private interpretation! I’m here to tell you that it isn’t. We need to understand that both the Word of God and our nations laws are not open to private interpretation. When either of them are, nothing but confusion and destruction follow in their wake!

Ms. Sotomeyer has also been quoted as saying that she does not believe that the second amendment right to bear arms applies to individuals.
Now, you and I are persons. That makes us people. What part of plain English is not understood when it says the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed?!

The Word of God is crystal clear as to how we are to conduct ourselves in the world: Our interpersonal relationships and in our relationships when it comes to governments! I challenge you to invest the time to search out the Scriptures for yourself to see what it says regarding both.

We think we’re free, but we’re really not.
We think we’re wise, but for the most part we’re fools. Isn’t that what Scripture declares, Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools? Yes, it’s in the Book (Romans 1:22).
I’d say it’s time to wise up and get back into the owners manual for directions on how to fix this mess.

Psalm 119:9-11
Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.
Vs. 15
“I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.”
John 3:19

“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light…” Repent while you may, for the day is coming when you can’t!
