Seven Biblical Truths You Don't Often Hear Today

Over the next several weeks we will address seven Biblical truths you don't hear very often anymore. The inspiration to this series is from a book by David A. Rich entitled "7 Biblical Truths You Wont Hear in Church." A great book that I'd recommend to you.

With all the things going on in the world today, Iran and the Middle East; North Korea; The butchering of folks in Peru; it's difficult to keep up with it all.

An Illusionist will tell you that the best way to razzle dazzle people is to use a simple trick known as "distraction." Simple really, you keep attention to a particular situation while doing what it is you really wish to accomplish. This is what I believe to be happening in the world today. Our Adversary is keeping the minds of God's people so focused on the many things going on around the world that Christians in America are failing to see what is going on in their own back yard.

Please understand, I in no way am diminishing the state of current affairs in the world, in which we live, however; I do wish to point out that there are things which are seemingly insignificant, but in actuality, will have a great impact on the society in which we live.

For instance, the nationalization of health care, the hate crimes legislation, the assault against home based Bible studies, and the like: All of which will impact our culture in a way that will have a far reaching impact against our freedoms! Everything going on in Washington D.C. with this "must be passed now" mentality with the copulation of, "this is just too important for you to read it all before voting" debacle. Folks, I don't know about you but the urgency by which our legislators seem to be pushing really concerns me. We all know the outcome of the last two bail outs but still our legislators continue to push forward full steam ahead toward the end of the track with nothing more than a puny blockade to stop them! Look out for the crash folks for it will be truly spectacular and I don't mean that in a good way either. It has been articulated this way, "Our politicians are a bunch of puppies sucking at the tits of a communist dictator, in the White House, hoping to increase in strength, yet in reality, enabling our country and the freedom we once lived for, to die a premature death!"

Our government seems to be grading the Constitution on a curve and it's devastating our Nation! Americans seemed to have forgotten that God does not grade on a curve! Our Savior, Jesus, put it simply in John 3:18. Everyone loves John 3:16 but that is where most stop. Many couldn't tell you what Jesus said after he declared, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Now I ask, what of the next two verses that our Lord proclaimed? "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world, through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, (why?) because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." What a declaration! What a statement! I'd say it is very clear that God does not grade on a curve. You either belong to Him, through Christ or you don't. There is little doubt of the meaning of His words, yet, we continue to go through life overwhelmed by what is happening around us while our fellow man lives and dies to enter into time eternal without so much as a warning from us as to what he will face.

You see friend, with God it is all or nothing. He does not use a bell curve. Jesus goes on to continue to say, "And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God." (verses 19-21, John).

Much of what is happening in this world is evil and men continue on their path to destruction, but we can proclaim the good news that Jesus came into the world to save sinners which is what we all are for the Scripture clearly declares in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned..."

No friend, God does not grade on a curve but He does make provision for us to be prepared for the test! Till next time, may the Lord keep and bless you.
